Installing the SQL/MP Sample Database
•
Before running the SQL/MX Release 1.8 setmxdb in a SQL/MX Release 2.x
environment, you must create the catalog and schemas required by the script.
(The default schemas are PERSNL, SALES, and INVENT.) Otherwise, the script
will generate an error. Creating the catalog and schemas in advance is NOT
required when running the SQL/MX Release 2.x setmxdb.
Alternately, you can run the SQL/MX Release 1.8 setmxdb and use the -noansi
option. This method does not require you to create the catalog and schemas in
advance, but it uses Guardian names for the tables. No SQL/MP aliases are
created.
•
You can run the SQL/MX Release 1.8 setmxdb script from any directory. For more
information about running the SQL/MX Release 1.8 setmxdb script, see the
SQL/MX Quick Start provided for any of these RVUs: G06.18, G06.19, G06.20,
G06.21, or G06.22.
Installing the SQL/MP Sample Database
If you need to create a sample database consisting of SQL/MP tables and you do not
have a copy of the SQL/MX Release 1.8 setmxdb installation script, consider using
the sample database provided with the SQL/MP product.
The source code, database creation and load files, and installation instructions for the
SQL/MP sample database are stored in a file named DOCUMENT on a subvolume
named ZTSQLMSG when NonStop SQL/MP is installed. (The volume name is
specified at installation time by the user who installs NonStop SQL/MP. To determine
the volume name, check with the group that installs NonStop SQL/MP at your site.)
Detailed information about the SQL/MP sample database is provided in the SQL/MP
Reference Manual.
