Compatibility Issues
In general, rule-based products that can interfere with TFDS functions should be
disabled. This section provides instructions for disabling the processor dump and
reload capabilities of two such products:
•
Programmatic Network Administrator (PNA)
•
Rule Management Services (RMS)
Programmatic Network Administrator (PNA)
To disable the processor dump and reload capabilities within PNA:
1. Use the INFO EVENT and INFO RULE commands from the Rule Management
Utility Program (RMUP) to determine any active rule and version number or
numbers that respond to the Processor Down message.
2. Prevent PNA from loading any active rule version or versions by using the
ACCESS OFF option of the ALTER command.
If PNA is running, use the REFRESH-CODE command from the PNA Command
Interface (PNACI). This command forces PNA to unload all of the active rules and
causes the processor recovery rule to not be found in memory.
3. PNA loads any rules that are still accessible when it needs them.
Example
The current subvolume contains a PNA rules database named RULES. If rule #11 is
the processor recovery rule, and version 1 is the only version of that rule with the
ACCESS option set to ON, enter:
RMUP
ALTER RULE 11,1,ACCESS OFF
If PNA is running, and the name of the PNA RIM process is $PNA, enter:
PNACI $PNA REFRESH-CODE
Note. Do not change the status of the CPU UP rule.
