HP NonStop™ Blade Complex (NSBC)
HP NonStop™ Blade Complex (NSBC). The set of one, two, or three NonStop Blade
Elements and their associated LSUs. For the first release of NonStop servers, a
NonStop Blade Complex contains one to four logical processors. Also called a Blade
Complex.
HP NonStop™ Blade Element (NSBE). A portion of one or more logical processors and
one part of a NonStop Blade Complex. A NonStop Blade Element consists of a
chassis, processor board containing one or more processor elements and memory, I/O
interface board, midplane, optics adapters, fans, and power supplies. Also called a
Blade Element.
HP NonStop™ Kernel operating system. The former name of the operating system for HP
NonStop systems.
HP Integrity NonStop™ NS-series servers. The HP NonStop servers having product
numbers beginning with the letters NS. These servers implement the ServerNet
architecture and run the HP NonStop operating system.
HP NonStop™ Open System Services (OSS). The product name for the OSS
environment. See also Open System Services (OSS).
HP NonStop™ Open System Management (OSM) Interface. Identifies software used to
manage or service HP NonStop servers.
HP NonStop™ operating system. The operating system for HP NonStop systems.
HP NonStop™ S-series servers. The HP NonStop servers having product numbers
beginning with the letter S. These servers implement the ServerNet architecture and
run the HP NonStop operating system.
HP NonStop™ servers. The entire line of HP NonStop servers, including NonStop
NS-series and NonStop S-series servers.
HP NonStop™ System EPIC Model A processor (NSE-A processor). The model
designation for the TNS/E processor used in the HP Integrity NonStop NS16000
server.
HP NonStop™ Technical Library (NTL). The application for accessing, searching, and
viewing technical publications and support information for the HP NonStop server. NTL
replaces Total Information Manager (TIM).
HP Tandem Advanced Command Language (TACL). The user interface to the HP
NonStop™ operating system. The TACL product is both a command interpreter and a
command language. Users can write TACL programs that perform complex tasks or
provide a consistent user interface across independently programmed applications.
HP Tandem Failure Data System (TFDS). A diagnostic tool that is a component of the HP
NonStop™ operating system. The TFDS tool isolates software problems and provides
automatic processor-failure data collection, diagnosis, and recovery services.
