Guidelines
•
A maximum of twenty symptom strings or program file names can be configured.
•
Added symptom strings or program file names are displayed by the CONFIG
DETAIL command. (For more information, see CONFIG on page 3-15.)
•
The SEVERITY and SEVERITYLIMIT attributes are mutually exclusive.
•
Specifying an asterisk (*) as progname establishes default values for all programs.
•
Any specified OSS path name must exist when the TFDS monitor reads the TFDS
configuration file.
•
Override substitutions are performed in a least significant to most significant order:

When an incident is received, the TFDS monitor checks for a match at (4). If a
match occurs, any parameter overrides specified are applied, and searching is
stopped. If no match occurs at (4), then (3) is tested. If a match occurs here,
overrides are applied, and searching is again stopped. Checking for matches
continues until (1) is reached. If no is found, then the client program’s values are
used.

The halt code list can contain up to twenty halt codes and halt ranges.
•
The current list of halt codes and halt ranges is displayed by the CONFIG DETAIL
command. (For more information, see CONFIG on page 3-15.)
•
Configured halt codes and halt ranges are only used when DUMPALLSLICES is
set to ON.
•
Setting DUMPALLSLICES to ON has a negative impact on the overall system
performance and availability. This option should be set only when recommended
by HP support personnel.

These examples show the change of severity assigned to symptom strings:
