TFDSCOM Commands
•
The time directive supersedes the current default set by the BACKUPDELAY
command.
•
When performing a RESTORE operation (see the Backup and Restore 2.0
Manual), use the OPEN option. Failure to do so results in an error message
because the incident database files are open at the time the backup is performed.
•
When you specify an incident number, you initiate the backup of files related to the
incident in the incident database.
Examples
•
This example requests a backup in five minutes on $CART1 of all the files in the
subvolume associated with incident number 4:
BACKUP 4 $CART1 TIMEOUT= 5
•
This example requests an immediate backup of all the files in the subvolume
related to incident number 16:
BACKUP 16
Because no tape has been specified, the tape specification comes from a
previously specified TAPE command.
This example shows the output of the BACKUP STATUS command, which displays
the status of the pending and active TFDS backup requests:
04 - Active
05 - Active
06 - Active
The example shows that the logical backup requests 04, 05, and 06 are being
processed. It appears from the example that backup requests 01, 02, and 03 have
already been attended, but the example does not indicate whether the associated
backup requests succeeded. Requests can be canceled manually, internally, or
externally.
BACKUPDELAY
The BACKUPDELAY command instructs TFDS to wait a specific number of minutes
before it starts an AUTOBACKUP.
time
is the number of minutes AUTOBACKUP waits. The valid range of values is 0
through 1440. The default value is 1.
Guideline
•
If the command is entered incorrectly, an error message is issued, and the
previous time value remains in effect.
