TFDSCOM Commands
•
0x00000100 specifies that TFDSCOM-related tasks are to be traced in greater
detail.
•
0x00000200 specifies that TFDS helper statistics are to be traced.
•
0x00000400 specifies that hash values calculated by TFDS helper processes
are to be traced.
tracefile
specifies is a Guardian filename where the TFDS helper trace data is stored. Valid
input for tracefile is [system.]vol.subvol.file-prefix. The file prefix is used as the prefix
of the trace file name. A 2-digit decimal number representing the processor
number is appended to the end of the trace filename (trace-file00 for processor 0).
If the specified trace file currently exists, the new trace data is concatenated to the
end of the existing trace file.
DUMPMEMORYTRACE
specifies the circular trace buffer maintained in the TFDS helper memory is to be
dumped to tracefile.
Guidelines
•
TRACEHELPER is intended for use only by HP support personnel or at their
direction.
•
If you just want to change the current trace level without changing the trace file
name, specify the LEVEL 0xtrace-level option without the TO trace-file option.
•
If the LEVEL 0xtrace-level option is specified, the TO trace-file option is not
specified, and if tracing is currently off, then the default trace file
$SYSTEM.ZTFDS.TRCHLPnn is used (where nn is the processor number).
•
If tracing is being started or the trace level is being changed, the trace level (in
hex) and trace file name are output. If tracing is being stopped, The message
“Tracing off” is displayed. If tracing was previously on, the previous trace file name
is displayed.
•
If the DUMPMEMORYTRACE option is specified and the TO trace-file option is not
specified, the default trace file $SYSTEM.ZTFDS.TRCHLPnn is used (where nn is
the processor number).
•
If the DUMPMEMORYTRACE option is specified, the trace file name (where the
circular trace buffer is stored) is output.
•
One of these messages is displayed for each TFDS helper:
Command accepted
indicates the TRACEHELPER request was accepted by the TFDS helper.
