Alternative Fallback Plan for Phase C
7. Issue the following FUP RENAME command:
FUP RENAME $<config-vol>.ZTMFCONF.*, OLDCONF.*
8. Restore the previously-saved TMF catalog and configuration files:
RESTORE $<tape-device-name>, $<config-vol>.ZTMFCONF.*, OPEN
9. For each audit trail (MAT and all AUXes), use SNOOP to restore the last format 1
audit file(s) created before transitioning to format 2 from the appropriate TMF audit
dumps back to the audit disks they were dumped from, but with non-ZTMFAT
subvolume names (such as FMT1AT). The appropriate dump must be mounted
and the tape drive name must be specified.
When you transition to format 2 audit-trail files, you should write down the name of
the last format 1 audit-trail file (or the last two format 1 audit-trail files if the last two
control points are spread across two audit-trail files) and the names of their audit
dump tapes. This information is necessary to perform step 9.
10. Rename each restored format 1 audit-trail file to the official TMF audit-trail
subvolume:
FUP RENAME $<audit-vol>.FMT1AT.*, ZTMFAT.*
11. Force the TMP to let go of the renamed ZTMFCONF files:
TMFCOM STOP TMF, ABRUPT
12. Issue a TMFCOM START TMF command (with the disaster recovery option set).
13. Delete any online dumps taken during Phase C from the TMF Catalog.
14. Recover all audited files to a TIME/MATPOSITION just before you transitioned to
format 2 audit-trail files.
15. Issue a TMFCOM STOP TMF command.
16. Issue a TMFCOM START TMF command (without the Disaster Recovery option
set).
