Tandem Performance Data Collector (TPDC) Manual Version TPDC H02 Part Number 529899-003 Abstract The Tandem Performance Data Collector (TPDC) is the HP NonStop™ server host component for the Performance Management Client Bundle (PC components). TPDC interfaces with Measure and is managed and controlled via the PMC/ODB component UI for collection scheduling and loading of Measure data to the Windows based SQL database within the PC client framework.

Introduction Introduction TPDC is a host-based performance collection product that automates the collection of Measure performance data using the UI within the Performance Management Client (PMC – T5837). TPDC normalizes data from Measure for subsequent loading, reporting and analysis via the PMC components and a Windows based SQL database. This section describes the new features added in this release.

Introduction 1-2-2 Functional Overview TPDC provides the following major host functions in support and in concert with particular processing requests from PMC.
Installation and Configuration Installation and Configuration This section describes the different installation and configurations for TPDC. 1-3 Considerations & Requirements You can use DSM/SCM to move the TPDC product files from the site update media (SUT) to your NonStop system. For more information about DSM/SCM, see the DSM/SCM User’s Guide. TPDC installation does not require a system generation (SYSGEN) and has minimal impact on the system.
Installation and Configuration 1-4 Installation TPDC software default location is $SYSTEM.ZTPDC, the product activation of TPDC is carried out by transferring the files listed below and obeying the installation script "INSTTPDC.101". Note: After installation and as needed, OBEY files STRTTPDC and STOPTPDC can be used to start and stop the collector . 1-4-1 Host Component - NonStop TPDC is comprised of the following executable modules.
