Installation and Configuration
This section describes the different installation and configurations for TPDC.
1-3 Considerations & Requirements
You can use DSM/SCM to move the TPDC product files from the site update media (SUT) to your
NonStop system. For more information about DSM/SCM, see the DSM/SCM Users Guide.
TPDC installation does not require a system generation (SYSGEN) and has minimal impact on the
system.
1-3-1 Pre- Requisites
1-3-1-1 Hardware
HP NonStop Server
1-3-1-2 Software
PMC H02 or later is needed to use TPDC
1-3-1-3 General Considerations
TPDC needs to be running in order to use the PMC UI for scheduling and loading Measure
and Pathway data. Before starting TPDC make sure the TPDCCONF file has the settings
that are in sync with your PMC configuration (e.g. IP address and port number). TPDC
provides the listening function on the Port which PMC communicates, therefore if not
configured correctly PMC and TPDC will not be able to communicate.

1-3-2 Licensing
Licensing for TPDC is done via the PMC software on the users local PC.
PMC product will not run without proper licensing for TPDC. If no Internet access is available on the
user’s PC with PMC installed, then a license can be requested via email by the user.
Once TPDC is activated, it is issued a temporary license (usually multiple months). The system will
periodically check for a new license during this period, which usually starts when 60 days or less are
remaining on the license. The license on the web site is updated to match the type of license
purchased by the customer as part of the processing of the purchase agreement. The customer is
granted one of the three different kinds of licenses: permanent license, monthly license, license for a
certain term. Monthly and term licenses require periodic renewal.
In both the cases, (i.e. getting a new license or updating a license) if there is an internet connection
with the user’s PC where PMC is installed, then the product automatically fetches and updates the
license. If there is no internet connection, PMC provides the user with instructions on how to obtain
and update their license via email.
If you experience license problems, you should contact GNSC immediately for assistance (you will
need your NonStop System Serial number and VPROC info).
