TS/MP 2.5 Release Supplement
is optional. If a user does not set this attribute, PATHMON exhibits the existing behavior. For more
information, see section SET PATHWAY command in the TS/MP 2.5 System Management Manual.
Considerations
• The link manager processes other than from TS/MP 2.5 ROUT (TS/MP 2.0 LINKMON, TS/MP
3.0 ROUTER, and TS/MP 2.4, 2.3 and 2.1 ROUT) displays an error 905
(FESCNoServerLinkAvailable), while a server process is rebalanced. A server process
rebalancing needs special processing on the part of the link manager. If the link managers
fail to recognize this, a link to such a process is denied. If no other server process qualifies
to be linked, the link manager displays an error 905 (FESCNoServerLinkAvailable).
The PATHMON process grants a link from the server process that is rebalanced to a TS/MP
2.5 ROUT only if no other static server process is qualified for the link request.
• While granting a link, the PATHMON process provides a preference to a server process that
is rebalanced over a nonrunning static server process. A server process which is rebalanced
also gets a preference over any dynamic server processes.
• If the PATHMON process did not start a server process while rebalancing, it logs the message
REBALANCING FOR SERVER PROCESS FAILED. The server process is not restarted.
• This feature is applicable for:
The server classes that have auto restart count > 0.◦
◦ The local static server processes only. The PATHMON process does not rebalance the
remote server processes.
◦ The PATHMON process does not rebalance the server processes which are started while
the processor is down, because of the START server command or a Pathsend request.
Using the SPI Command to Obtain a Serverclass Name for a Server Process
The PATHMON process is enhanced to support a single SPI command to obtain a server class
name for a given server process. The SPI command returns the server class name under which
the server process is configured. The command returns the server class name only if the input server
process is running or configured when the command is processed by the PATHMON. This command
does not support wildcard for server process name. For more details on this command, see the
TS/MP 2.5 Management Programming Manual.
NOTE: PATHCOM/PDMCOM process does not support a similar command.
Filtering/Wildcard Support in SCF STATS DETAIL Command
The SCF STATS command is enhanced to list or reset statistics for a set of server classes. The
command accepts a server class name as a parameter and lists or resets the statistics for that server
class only. Users can specify a “wildcard” for the server class name. Users can reset the statistics
for a set of server classes using the RESET option. For more details on the command syntax, see
“STATS Command” (page 76).
UMASK Support in PATHMON
The PATHMON process provides support for setting User Mask (UMASK) values for an OSS server
class and Default User Mask (DUMASK) values for a Pathway environment. The DUMASK is
applicable for all OSS Pathway server classes. The UMASK, if specified overrides the DUMASK.
The PATHMON process uses this value as a file mode creation mask while creating a server
process. These attributes are optional, and the PATHMON process exhibits existing behavior if
none of the attributes are set.
