TS/MP 2.5 Release Supplement
Wildcard Support
The following server commands in PATHCOM allow management and operation of server objects,
by specifying “*” as wildcard in the object name:
• FREEZE
• INFO
• START
• STATS
• STATUS
• STOP
NOTE: Only one instance of the wildcard character ("*") is accepted. If two or more asterisks
are used, the Illegal Syntax error appears. Therefore, for example, A*BD, AB*D, or ABD*
is supported. However, A*B*D or AB**D is not supported. For more information on wildcard
Support in PATHCOM, see the TS/MP 2.5 System Management Manual.
Default Security Attribute
In TS/MP, the default security attribute of PATHMONs is “O.” For more information on security
attributes, see the TS/MP 2.5 System Management Manual.
HISTORY, !, and FC Command Support
The HISTORY command displays previous commands. In TS/MP release, the HISTORY command
can be used with PATHCOM and PDMCOM processes.
For information about the HISTORY command in PDMCOM process, see the “HISTORY Command”
(page 45). For information about the HISTORY command in PATHCOM process, see the HP
NonStop TS/MP 2.5 System Management Manual.
The ! command in PATHCOM process executes an existing command. For more information, see
the ! command in the HP NonStop TS/MP 2.5 System Management Manual.
The FC command in PATHCOM process allows you to specify a number or string to edit or repeat
a command line. For more information, see the FC command in the HP NonStop TS/MP 2.5 System
Management Manual.
Security Logging
TS/MP allows logging the audit messages in the log file, which includes details such as PATHMON
process name, entity name, user ID, and command status. When users add or alter an object, the
audit message is logged. For information about security logging, see the HP NonStop TS/MP 2.5
System Management Manual.
Centi-seconds Support for createdelay
TS/MP supports createdelay (for server class objects in PATHMON) values in centi-seconds
(1/100 second). For more information, see the createdelay parameter in the HP NonStop
TS/MP 2.5 System Management Manual.
Improved Server Process Distribution
TS/MP allows you to assign the weights to processors specified in the CPU attribute of the server
class. The CPU weight indicates the percentage of processes to be started on a CPU against the
total processes on all the CPUs for a given server class. During server process creation, the CPUs
with higher weight will get more server processes than those with lower weights. The CPU weights
are used only for creating new server processes.
