TS/MP 2.5 Release Supplement
For each replicated server class under PATHMON processes in a Pathway domain (representing
a single logical server class to requestor applications), you can specify different CPU-Weight
combinations. In conjunction with the weights assigned to each PATHMON process in the domain
through the domain configuration in the ACSCTL file, this feature will help to create the server
processes with most appropriate distribution on processors of your choice. It also helps you to
recover from CPU failures whereby you can stop and restart one server class at a time to allow
the static server processes to get restarted in the original CPUs. After a processor reload, the new
dynamic server processes are started as per the weights assigned to the processors.
For more information on the CPU weights, see the HP NonStop TS/MP 2.5 System Management
Manual.
Example
A server class is added under PATHMON with NUMSTATIC and MAXSERVERS attributes set to 5
and 20 respectively. The weights defined for CPUs 0, 1, 2, and 3 are 20, 10, 10, and 60
respectively. The LINKDEPTH, MAXLINKS, AUTORESTART, CREATEDELAY, and DELETEDELAY
attributes are set to 1, 1, 10, 0, and 0 respectively.
Table 7 (page 34) lists the server processes distribution, under varying conditions:

Management and Control
Pathway Domain Management Interface (PDMI) is a new management interface introduced in
TS/MP. The PDMI can be used when you want to configure multiple PATHMON processes with
replicated configurations, while using the Pathway domain feature.
NOTE: Before running TS/MP Pathsend applications, you must start the ACS subsystem. HP
recommends that you start PATHMON processes after the ACS subsystem is started. For more
information about configuring and starting the ACS subsystem, see “Installing and Configuring”
(page 53) and “Managing the ACS Subsystem” (page 59).
Event and Error Messages
The ACS subsystem returns a new set of EMS messages that functionally replace the messages
formerly returned by the LINKMON process. Similarly, the ACS subsystem Pathsend APIs returns
a new set of errors. Messages returned by the TS/MP PATHMON process are unchanged.
For more information on the EMS messages, see the Operator Messages Manual.
For more information on the ACS subsystem EMS event tokens, see Section 14, ACS Subsystem
Messages in the TS/MP 2.5 Management Programming Manual.
For more information on the ACS SCF errors, see “SCF Error Messages” (page 85).
