TS/MP 2.5 Release Supplement

Large Message Support
TS/MP supports data transmission of up to 2 MB for context free Pathsend requests. A new Pathsend
API, SERVERCLASS_SENDL_, allows you to send and receive messages of up to 2 MB. See the
SERVERCLASS_SENDL_ procedure in the HP NonStop TS/MP 2.5 Pathsend and Server Programming
Manual.
The following file system APIs support 2 MB messages:
AWAITIOXL
CANCELREQL
FILE_COMPLETEL_
FILE_GETRECEIVEINFOL_
READUPDDATEXL
REPLYXL
For more information on the new file-system APIs, see the Guardian Procedure Calls Reference
Manual.
Limits Enhancement
TS/MP provides the current limits per CPU for concurrent server links and Pathsends as 8191. For
more information, see the enhanced limits in Table 2 (page 20).
Domain-level Commands Support
TS/MP supports domain-level commands such as OPEN, CONTROL, and STATUS in PDMCOM:

Compatibility with TS/MP 2.0
TS/MP 2.5 cannot be installed on the same system that has TS/MP 2.0 installed on it. However,
TS/MP 2.5 can be installed on the same system with Tuxedo (TS/MP 3.0) applications.
The TS/MP 2.5 environment supports the following TS/MP 2.0 environment features and functions:
Requestors and Servers: Server classes defined in TS/MP 2.5 can be accessed by requestors
from TS/MP 2.0 environments in other systems. Similarly, requestors from a TS/MP 2.5
environment can access server classes in TS/MP 2.0 environments in other systems.
LINKMON(ROUT) name: The ACS subsystem redirector process uses the
$SYSTEM.SYSnn.ROUT filename and the $ZLnn process name as used by the LINKMON
process in TS/MP 2.0 (although the content of the file and the functionality of the process are
different). For information on the ACS subsystem components, see Architecture Overview”
(page 12).
Pathway/XM: You can continue to use the Pathway/XM product to configure and manage
the Pathway environments with TS/MP 2.5 installed on your system.
Server processes: TS/MP 2.5 supports the Guardian and OSS-based server processes.
Pathcom: The existing Pathcom commands are supported and are unchanged.
