5 Installing and Configuring

NOTE: Before starting TS/MP PATHMON processes or Pathsend requestors, you must install and
configure TS/MP 2.5, and then start the ACS subsystem.
For information on backing out your installation from TS/MP 2.5 to TS/MP 2.0, see “Backing Out
Your Installation to TS/MP 2.0” (page 90).
Prerequisites
The following conditions must be met before installing TS/MP 2.5:
• TS/MP 2.5 cannot reside on the same SYSnn as TS/MP 2.0.
• The ACS subsystem must reside in the same physical system as TS/MP 2.5.
• You must start the ACS subsystem before starting and using TS/MP 2.5.
Installing TS/MP 2.5 version
Use the standard Distributed Systems Management/Software Configuration Manager (DSM/SCM)
installation tool to install TS/MP 2.5.
Perform the following steps to install TS/MP 2.5:
1. RECEIVE the SPR of TS/MP from disk or tape.
2. COPY to a new software revision of the configuration you want to update.
3. Ensure that products T0620 (ACS Infrastructure), T0639 (Pathsend Library), and T0845
(Pathway Domain Management Interface) are present in the product list of the software revision
window.
4. BUILD and APPLY the configuration revision.
5. Run ZPHIRNM to perform the RENAME step.
After executing the above steps, the ACS components are automatically installed in the
$SYSTEM.SYSnn directory. Perform the following post installation steps:
1. If the system is running TS/MP 2.0 LINKMON or ROUT product, rename the TS/MP 2.5 ROUT
program file. See “Migration Considerations” (page 53).
2. Perform a system load on the system image created.
3. If TS/MP 2.0 LINKMON or ROUT product is installed on the system, delete its configuration
using SCF, and rename TS/MP 2.5 ROUT file back to ROUT. See “Migration Considerations”
(page 53).
4. Configure and start the ACS subsystem using SCF. See “Configuring and Starting the ACS
Subsystem” (page 56).
5. Start Pathway systems. Pathway systems may be cold started after the installation. See “Starting
TS/MP PATHMON and Requestors” (page 58).
Migration Considerations
• Perform the following instructions if TS/MP 2.5 is being installed on a system that has TS/MP
2.0 LINKMON or ROUT installed and running:
