Pathway Domain Management Command interpreter
(PDMCOM)
Pathway Domain Management Command interpreter (PDMCOM). A new command-line
interface used to start PDMI and configure and operate on multiple Pathway
environments at the same time. It is a superset of PATHCOM.
Pathway Domain Management Interface (PDMI). A management interface with a set of
commands for configuring, controlling, and monitoring multiple PATHMON
processes. Typically, it is used to work with multiple PATHMON processes under a
single Pathway domain.
process broker (PB) process. A process that executes in each processor within a system
to manage the resources and link reservations for the processor.
product module. A process that resides in each ACS subsystem for communicating with
SCF. The product module is responsible for subsystem-specific command processing.
redirector (RD) process. Processes that provide link management functionality to
Pathsend requesters.
requester. A process that uses the Pathsend API to communicate with server class
processes. This is also called the client process.
ROUT. redirector (RD) processes that provide LINKMON-like functionality to Pathsend
requesters. They are also referred to as RD processes.
Subsystem Control Point (SCP). he management process for a number of subsystems.
There can be several instances of this process. Applications using SPI send the
commands for a subsystem to an instance of the SCP, which in turn sends the
command on to the manager process of the targeted subsystem (which is $ZACS for
ACS subsystems).
Subsystem Control Facility (SCF). A common interactive management interface for
configuring, controlling and collecting information from subsystems.
subsystem manager process. In DSM, a NonStop server subsystem process that the SCP
process uses to communicate with the subsystem. The ACS subsystem manager
process is the domain coordinator, $ZACS.
Subsystem Programmatic Interface (SPI). A set of NonStop operating system
procedures, message formats, and definition files that allows management commands
and applications to communicate directly with subsystem processes, such as the
TS/MP PATHMON process and the ACS subsystem link management processes, for
configuration and control of objects and for event management.
sensitive command. A command that can be issued only by a restricted set of Guardian
users, for example the owner of the subsystem process or a member of the super
Note. The PB is part of the ACS Subsystem.
Note. The RD is part of the ACS Subsystem.
