TS/MP Release Supplement
Introduction to TS/MP 2.3
HP NonStop TS/MP Release Supplement—546055-006
2-4
New PATHMON/Pathcom Configuration Limits
configuration and processing limits to support a higher link capacity for client
processes, and efficient acquisition and usage of server processes.
TS/MP 2.3 is designed without any architectural limits. However, the practical limits
may be lower depending on the physical hardware available on the system (for
example, memory) or on file-system constraints. For a list of the configuration and
processing limits, see Configuration and Environment Limits
.
New PATHMON/Pathcom Configuration Limits
TS/MP 2.3 packages enhanced PATHMON/Pathcom components that support higher
Pathway configuration limits. In addition, the new PATHMON/Pathcom components
support wildcard characters through the Pathcom interface. For more information on
the new Pathway limit and on the new wildcard support, see Enhanced
PATHMON/PATHCOM Components.
New ACS Subsystem
The ACS subsystem provides link management functions for applications using
Pathsend requesters. For information on the ACS subsystem, see Section 1, ACS
Subsystem.
Changes to LINKMON (ROUT) Process
In TS/MP 2.3, the functions performed by the TS/MP 2.0 LINKMON process are
performed by the ACS subsystem components. Messages formerly returned by the
LINKMON (ROUT) process are replaced by similar messages returned by the ACS
subsystem components. For more information on link management, see Link
Management.
Enhanced PATHMON/PATHCOM Components
Enhanced PATHMON and PATHCOM components are part of the TS/MP 2.3 product
package. Operationally, they are similar to the existing PATHMON/PATHCOM
components except that the enhanced versions support higher Pathway configuration
limits, support for wildcard characters, and changed default security attribute.
Pathway Configuration Limits
Table 2-2 shows new PATHMON configuration limits for TS/MP 2.3.
