4 X3PAD Interface
This section describes the X3PAD interface to the X25AM subsystem. Topics covered

About the X3PAD Programmatic Interface
X3PAD is a program that is provided with the X25AM subsystem, and serves as an
interface to it. X3PAD acts as a PAD between X25AM and an input source, typically a
terminal, that is sending or receiving a stream of characters. X3PAD does not support
PVC connections. X3PAD is used in the following ways:
•
To transfer data between a terminal and a remote device.
•
To transfer data received from a remote device to a Guardian file.
•
To transfer data from a Guardian file to a remote device.
