A successful sign in to the Domain Manager is required before accessing the regular
BackPak functionality. By the “Sign In” page, the user identifies the BackPak Domain
and enters a NonStop Guardian user id and password.
A successful NonStop logon will return the main Status page.
Page elements
Domain: The Domain Name and the Domain Manager selected for the session.
Domain addresses are managed using the Domain Address Configuration page.
Guardian user-id: A Guardian user name (group.user) that has super.operator access.
Guardian Password: The Guardian password associated with the user-id.
To sign
out
Click the Sign out link located on the upper right hand corner of the interface to log off
the session.
Session timeout
Sessions automatically time out after 20 minutes of inactivity. Attempt to access the
user interface after a timeout returns the user to the Sign in page to log on again.
To set a different timeout period, use the Menu Preferences, Session.
Domain Address Configuration
A domain address identifies a BackPak Domain Manager. Several domains, i.e.
operational environments, can be identified; their address is stored in a local file of the
computer executing the GUI.
On a workstation, these addresses are no more than bookmarks easing the access to
domains.
