5. Virtual tapes can be updated or deleted individually in the list of Virtual drives.
Attributes updatable: “Node”, “Guardian Device”, “Port”, “Target” or “LUN”, “VLE”,
“Explicit Only” and “Reserved for”.
Virtual Device Information
Node: Guardian Node name of the NonStop server connected to the port.
Guardian Device: Guardian tape device name defined in SCF.
Device Type: Emulation provided by the VTC for this device, CART3480, LTO 3
or LTO 4
Serial Number: Serial number provided by the VTC for this tape device
Port: Type (SCSI, FC, BRIDGE) and port number in the VTC.
BRIDGE corresponds to a SCSI physical port of the NonStop; in this case the
port number is the FC port number shown in Ports table, suffixed by CH1 or CH2
to distinguish the two corresponding SCSI Channel of the Bridge, ex: “BRIDGE-
3-CH1
Target: SCSI Target ID assigned to the Guardian tape device by SCF.
LUN: SCSI LUN ID assigned to the Guardian tape device by SCF.
VLE: “VLE” is displayed if this device was enabled for VLE encryption by the SCF
ALTER TAPE, KEYGENPOLICY command. This information is queried from host
query when the tape devices are included in the BackPak configuration. It is
refreshed only when user edit the configuration, click the link Update devices
based on the probe result from the VTC and all hosts, and Save the
configuration.
Explicit Only: Select “Yes” to exclude this device from the automatic device
assignment provided by the Domain Manager. Only mount requests that specify
explicitly this device will use it.
Reserved for: Link to the list of reservations for this drive. If present, the first
reserving Volume class is displayed. Click on the link to open the list of possible
Volume classes and enter reservations.
Host WWN: WWN of the host that has connected to the VTC through this device
(basic connectivity).
Status: Status of the tape drive in the VTC, identical to the ‘VT Controller View’
status displayed in the Status Node page.
Guardian port: Display the SAC name or CLIM id of the definition of the tape
device in SCF. As for VLE item, this information is queried when the tape is
added, and updated when “Refresh” tab action is trigger and Save.
