configuration
On VTC server, several services are installed to provide BackBox functionalities. Here
is a quick overview of them.
Service VTC Admin
Service that performs administrative tasks that don’t require the FC/SCSI tape
emulation connectivity
• Create\Delete virtual media
• Virtualize\Materialize Physical Media
• Data Store query status
• Data Store access for maintenance (Cleanup, Move from Spare pool to
Storage pool, backup script resubmit)
Service VTC Emulator (FC)
Service that emulates virtual tape devices
• Manage tape connectivity
• Response device status
• Handle tape session with the NonStop
• Handle tape migration with VTS
Service VTC Asynclog
Provides asynchronous communication services with the BackPak Domain Server
located on the HP NonStop Server
• EMS message notification
• End operation on Virtual Media notification (load, virtualization,
materialization, move, …)
Service VTC Script Controller
Provides batching of Windows scripts to an Enterprise Software Backup
