The replication of the only BackPak catalog brings several benefits, the most
important:
• The timestamp of the last backup on the volume is written, and will be
verified against the volume in storage at restore time in the secondary site,
securing the identification of the version of the volume data.
• When the virtual volumes are written on Windows disk, and then saved by a
back-end Enterprise Backup software; the BackPak catalog contains the name
of the original Windows file name that must be specified in a restore
command to the Enterprise Backup software.
• The replicated volume owner and authorized access will forward the potential
access restrictions
To receive the replicated catalog entries in the secondary site, a Data Store must be
configured with SECONDARY domain access in the BackPak Domain on the secondary
site.
