NonStop NS2200 Series Planning Guide
CG Maintenance Switch
The CG maintenance switch provides the communication between the NonStop NS2200T and
NS2200ST systems through the VIO enclosures, CLIM CGs, and the desktop system console running
HP NonStop Open System Management (OSM).
The CG maintenance switch:
• Has 24 10/100 Ethernet ports.
• Uses two DC power inputs.
• Has a ground connection between the switch chassis and the cabinet.
NOTE: The procedures for the CG maintenance switch ground and power connections are
described in the NonStop NS2200 Installation Manual which is a manual for HP authorized service
providers. Ask your authorized service provider to refer to this manual for these procedures and
for detailed instructions on connecting your components to the switch.

The NonStop NS2200T and NS2200ST systems require multiple connections made by your
authorized HP service provider to the CG maintenance switch.
• One connection from the ME ENET port on each of the two DC-powered VIO enclosures
• One connection from slot 6B, port A on each of the two VIO enclosures for the OSM Service
Connection and other up-system connectivity (optional if a dedicated service LAN is
implemented using CLIM CGs)
• One connection to the iLO port on a CLIM CG
• One connection to the iLO port on a DC-powered blade element
• One connection to an eth0 port on a CLIM CG
• One connection to the (optional) desktop model NonStop system console running OSM
System Console for DC-Powered Systems
A system console is a Windows Server purchased from HP that runs maintenance and diagnostic
software for NonStop NS2200 series systems. When supplied with a new NonStop NS2200
series system, system consoles have factory-installed HP and third-party software for managing the
system. You can install software upgrades from the HP NonStop System Console Installer DVD.
NonStop NS2200T and NS2200ST systems do not support rack-mounted system consoles. Instead,
the desktop model is used.
For more information on the system console, see “System Consoles for NonStop NS2200 Series
Systems ” (page 170).
