Up to four SAS CG disk enclosures can be connected to the default and optional HBA SAS interfaces
on 1 pair of Storage CLIM CGs. Up to 2 pairs of Storage CLIM CGs are supported on the NS2200T
and NS2200ST systems.

The NonStop NS2200T and NS2200ST systems use the rack-mounted disk enclosure, and its SAS
disk drives are controlled through the Storage CLIM T or Storage CLIM CG. For illustrations of the
Storage CLIM HBA slots, refer to the illustrations for commercial Storage CLIM HBA slots in “Storage
CLuster I/O Module (CLIM)” (page 28). The HBA slots are the same, although the power supply
connections differ.
NOTE: All CLIMs use the Cluster I/O Protocols (CIP) subsystem. For more information about the
CIP subsystem, see the Cluster I/O Protocols (CIP) Configuration and Management Manual.
Disk enclosures connect to Storage CLIMs via SAS cables. For details on cable types, see Appendix B
(page 172).
Factory-Default Disk Volume Locations for Disk Devices
NOTE: If you have ordered $OSS, you need a 4 pair disk configuration.

Configuration Restrictions for Storage CLIMs
The maximum number of logical unit numbers (LUNs) for each CLIM, including SAS disks and tapes
is 512. Each primary, backup, mirror and mirror backup path is counted in this maximum.
Use only the supported configurations as described below.

These subsections show the default configuration for the two Storage CLIMs, two disk enclosures.
M8391-24CG and M8392-24CG disk enclosures cannot be daisy-chained.
