C Operations and Management Using OSM Applications
The HP NonStop Open System Management (OSM) suite of products is at the core of managing
and servicing NonStop servers, providing a variety of tools and working together with HP SIM,
SIM plug-ins, and third-party products to meet the needs of NonStop manageability. OSM consists
of both a server-based component and a host of client-based tools that reside on NonStop system
consoles.
• OSM server-based components are incorporated in a single OSM server-based SPR, T0682
(OSM Service Connection Suite), that is installed on all NonStop NS-series servers. For
information on how to configure and start OSM server-based processes and components, see
the OSM Configuration Guide.
• OSM client-based components are installed on NonStop system consoles; they can be upgraded
to the latest version from the HP NonStop System Console (NSC) Installer DVD. The NSC DVD
also delivers all other client software required for managing and servicing NonStop NS2400
series systems. The OSM client-based components are:
