Displaying Object Names
SU Object
The NAMES SU command allows you to view the names of all subdevices associated
with the FTAM process you designate in the command line. The NAMES command is
especially helpful for subdevices because subdevices are created—and named—
automatically. Note the following example:
This display shows that four subdevices are associated with responder $FTR1 and
provides you with the names of these subdevices: #ZF00002, #ZF00003, #ZF00001, and
#ZF00004. As with other NAMES commands, this command does not return the names
in any particular order.
Because you cannot know what a subdevice is named, the NAMES command is an
important resource when using SCF commands with the SU object. For example, one
step in troubleshooting a problem with a process is finding out what subdevices are
associated with the given process. When troubleshooting, issue the NAMES command
for the process through the SU object to display all subdevice names associated with that
process. Once you know all subdevice names, you can begin troubleshooting the
problem. For more information on troubleshooting, see Section 6, FTAM
Troubleshooting.
