Optional DEVICE Attributes for FASTPSMB
To identify the NBT or NBX domain name associated with a process, use
NBTCOM or NBXCOM. For example, for a process named $NBT, you would enter
the command:
6>nbtcom $nbt; info domain*
T8439D40^08SEP99^T27^NBTCOM^AAN
OPEN $nbt
info domain*
#DOM1 $ZTCO.#YELLOW 128.1.2.66
TYPE M NBNS 128.1.2.70 #RSCMGR = 3 *DEFAULT*
SCOPE *NONE*
The command returns the domain name #DOM1.
To identify the TLAM resource name associated with a line (for D-series only), use
the Subsystem Control Facility (SCF) INFO command. For example, for a TLAM
line named $LINE1, you would enter the command:
5> SCF;INFO DOMAIN $LINE1.*
TLAM Info DOMAIN $LINE1.#GW001
The command returns the resource name #GW001.
Optional DEVICE Attributes for FASTPSMB
The optional DEVICE attributes for FASTSMB are defined as follows:
BLOCK = data-block-size
is an optional attribute that specifies a data-block size to use for communication
with the SMB LAN print queue.
The data-block size is determined by one of the following methods:
•
If a data-block size is required by the SMB print server (refer to the SMB print
server documentation), you can explicitly specify the data-block size.
•
If you know that the SMB LAN print queue corresponds to an HP device type,
you can use the Spoolcom DEV command (the command used to define a
Spooler device name for the LAN print queue) to specify the device type. The
data-block size then assumes the default value specified in Table 4-4.
•
If the BLOCK attribute is not used and the device type is not explicitly specified
by using the Spoolcom DEV command, the default data-block size is 1020.
Note. If you explicitly specify a data-block size that is not the size required by the SMB print
server, or if the default data-block size is used and it is not the size required by the SMB print
server, the size required by the SMB print server is used instead.
