FASTCNFG DEVICE Configuration for
FASTPNOV
Each NetWare print queue must be represented by a DEVICE entry in the FASTCNFG
file.
DEVICE information can be added to, deleted from, or changed in the FASTCNFG file
at any time. However, updated information for a device becomes effective only after
the FASTPNOV print process controlling the device reads the information. Remember,
to instruct the FASTPNOV print process to read the FASTCNFG file, you must set bit 5
(%2000) of the PARM attribute using the Spoolcom DEV command.
For a complete discussion about the use and creation of the FASTCNFG file, see
Configuring a FASTCNFG File on page 2-17. The syntax of a DEVICE entry for a
NetWare print queue is as follows:
PARM Only bits 1, 5, and 14 are supported.
PREXLATE Always set to OFF.
SPEED
The value must be set by experimentation. Speed is influenced by
the speed of the printer device and the performance of the LAN.
