Installation Requirements
Installation Requirements
Before the FASTPXNS print process can be installed and configured, the following
requirements must be met:
•
The Spooler subsystem must be installed and configured on your host system.
•
One of the following set of products must be installed and configured on your host
system to provide LAN services:
°
For D-series systems, the following products must be installed:
°
Tandem LAN Access Method (TLAM)
°
Subsystem Control Process (SCP)
FASTPXNS uses the SPI interface to TLAM to obtain the TLAM Controller
Ethernet address. FASTPXNS assumes the SCP process name is $ZNET.
This can be changed by adding a suitable DEFINE before starting the
Spooler supervisor.
For example:
>ADD DEFINE =SCP , FILE $ZSCP.#ZSPI
Note that the process qualifier #ZSPI is mandatory.
°
For G-series and H-series systems, TLAM is obsolete as well as MLAM and
MLMUX. The Port Access Method (PAM), and ServerNet LAN Systems Access
Method (SLSA) have replaced the D-series TLAM subsystem. Therefore, for
G-series systems, the following products must be installed:
°
Port Access Method (PAM)
°
ServerNet LAN Systems Access (SLSA) subsystem
•
Your LAN must be installed and appropriately connected to your host system.

allation and configuration of TLAM, PAM, and
SLSA, including any LAN requirements, consult the following manuals:
