Spooler Device Attributes
Setting bit 3 (%10000) instructs FASTPXNS to print a statistics page
containing information about the number of Sequenced Packet
timeouts, NACKs, and similar statistics at the end of each job. This
statistics page is intended as a debugging aid only and its contents
are liable to change from release to release. If bit 3 is not set, the
statistics page is not printed.
PARM Setting bit 12 (%10) indicates FASTPXNS is to embed suitable DJDE
sequen
ces to cause the Spooler job details to be displayed on the
Xerox 4050 console. If bit 12 is not set, the DJDE sequences are not
embedded and the job details are not displayed.
SPEED The Xerox 4050 printer appears, as far as the Spooler is concerned,
to p
rint at a rate of about 200 pages per minute (on VLX). The exact
speed varies depending upon network conditions and printer load.
The data is first stored on disc at the printer. The Spooler job
completes when all of the data has been stored on disc. The printer
starts printing a job after the first few pages have been received.
