FASTCNFG DEVICE Configuration For FASTPXNS
DEVICE $lan.#port-name[.#qualifier]
specifies the Spooler device name for the Xerox printer. The qualifier specification
uniquely identifies the printer. If only one printer is attached to the LAN, this
qualifier can be omitted.
CONTYPE = XNS
specifies the type of connection used for the device. The CONTYPE value must be
specified as XNS. The value is not case sensitive.
PRINTERADDRESS = printer-address
specifies the printer Ethernet address expressed in hexadecimal notation. Each
printer has a unique Ethernet address. Your Xerox representative should provide
the Ethernet address when installing the printer. The PRINTERADDRESS
specification is mandatory.
DNETWORK = destination-xns-net
specifies an XNS network number to which the printer is connected. The
DNETWORK specification is required when the host and Xerox printer are
connected to different LAN segments and XNS routers (rather than bridges) are
used to link the segments. If specified, the source network (SNETWORK) and
router address (ROUTER) must also be configured. DNETWORK is expressed in
hexadecimal notation.
If XNS routers are not being used, the DNETWORK specification is not used.
ROUTER = router-address
specifies an Ethernet address of the router used to reach the destination XNS
network. The ROUTER specification is required when the host and Xerox printer
are connected to different LAN segments and XNS routers (rather than bridges)
are used to link the segments. If specified, the source network (SNETWORK) and
destination network (DNETWORK) must also be configured. ROUTER is
expressed in hexadecimal notation.
If XNS routers are not being used, the ROUTER specification is not used.
SNETWORK = source-xns-net
specifies an XNS network number to which the host system is connected. The
SNETWORK specification is required when the host and Xerox printer are
connected to dif
ferent LAN segments and XNS routers (rather than bridges) are
used to link the segments. If specified, the destination network (DNETWORK), and
router address (ROUTER) must also be configured. SNETWORK is expressed in
hexadecimal notation.
If XNS routers are not being used, the SNETWORK specification is not used.
