Reading Trace Output
list-file
specifies a name for the report output file to be produced by SHAP from the
specified shadow file. The format of the name specified varies based on the file
format specified in the CRLF option.
CRLF
determines the list-file format.
If the CRLF option is specified, the file specified must be a disk file which is
written in PC-DOS text format.
If the CRLF option is not specified, the file specified must be a line-oriented file,
such as a Spooler location or a terminal.
ASC
specifies that certain binary values in the output data should be displayed as ASCII
mnemonics instead of hexadecimal values. For example, LF for hexadecimal 0A,
FF for hex 0C. The default is to display all data as hexadecimal values.
DATA=filename
specifies that SHAP will create filename as an unstructured file containing the
exact data sent to the TCP/IP device.
Note the following considerations when interpreting the SHAP output:
SHAP output lines are limited to 80 columns.
SHAP output is limited to displayable ASCII; control characters are only displayed
as hexadecimal values.
In general, SHAP output is self-explanatory.
Certain trace records are interpreted by SHAP. Because these records are
primarily intended for support and development staff, the records are not
documented in detail here.
