FASTCNFG DEVICE Attributes for All FASTPTCP
Devices
The alternative method for specifying a hosts file is to add the following DEFINE before
starting the Spooler supervisor:
where
hosts-file-name
specifies the name of the local file to be used for address resolution if the
ADDRESS is a host name.
Note, if both a DEFINE and a FASTCNFG HOSTS entry are used, the FASTCNFG
HOSTS entry overrides the DEFINE.
FASTCNFG DEVICE Attributes for All FASTPTCP Devices
The following attributes can be specified for any FASTPTCP device. Note that some of
these attributes (such as CONTYPE, PROTOCOL, ADDRESS, and PORT) are usually
required for most FASTPTCP devices, whereas the remainder of these attributes
(BLOCK, TIMEOUT, TCP/IP-A, TCP/IP-B, and IDLETIMEOUT) are optional and offer
additional site-customization features. The basic syntax for DEVICE entries for all
FASTPTCP printers is as follows:
ADD DEFINE =HOSTS , FILE hosts-file-name
DEVICE device-name
CONTYPE = {TCP/IP|TCP/IP-TELNET} !Required for
!TCP/IP TELNET
PROTOCOL = {NONE |
TTAP | !Required for TTAP
HPJETDIRECT | !Required for HPJETDIRECT
LPD1179 | !Required for LPD1179
LEXMARK | !Required for LEXMARK
MICROPLEX} !Required for MICROPLEX
ADDRESS = {ip-addess | hostname} !Required
PORT = ip-port !Required for NONE
!and TTAP protocols
BLOCK = blocksize !Optional
IDLETIMEOUT = idle-timeout !Optional
SHADOW = shadow-file-name !Optional
SHADOW2 = shadow-file-name2 !Optional
SHADOW3 = shadow-file-name3 !Optional
SHADOW4 = shadow-file-name4 !Optional
SHADOW5 = shadow-file-name5 !Optional
SHADOW6 = shadow-file-name6 !Optional
SHADOW7 = shadow-file-name7 !Optional
SHADOW8 = shadow-file-name8 !Optional
TCP/IP-A = primary-process-name !Optional
TCP/IP-B = backup-process-name !Optional
