Migrating from NonStop SQL/MP to NonStop
SQL/MX
If you are currently using NonStop SQL/MP, there are several paths of migrating to
NonStop SQL/MX:
Coexistence of NonStop SQL/MP and NonStop SQL/MX on page 1-2
Migrating SQL/MP Applications to NonStop SQL/MX on page 1-3
Migrating to a New Hardware Platform on page 1-4
Coexistence of NonStop SQL/MP and NonStop SQL/MX
If you want to use NonStop SQL/MX, you are not required to convert your existing
SQL/MP applications and database objects to NonStop SQL/MX. NonStop SQL/MX
and NonStop SQL/MP can run on the same NonStop system, at the same time,
sharing the same data. SQL/MX applications and databases can coexist with SQL/MP
applications and databases. Existing SQL/MP applications run unchanged while you
develop and deploy new SQL/MX applications.
On a system that has SQL/MX Release 3.0 installed, you can create new SQL/MX
applications that:
Access existing SQL/MP tables
Access new SQL/MX tables
Access both SQL/MP and SQL/MX tables
Join data from SQL/MP and SQL/MX tables
