Preparing to Install NonStop SQL/MX
Before you install SQL/MX Release 2.x, check that you have met these preinstallation
requirements as they apply to your installation:

•

•

Hardware Requirements
Before you install SQL/MX Release 2.x, your HP Integrity NonStop NS-series server
must meet these minimum requirements:
Note. You must install SQL/MX Release 2.x software from an H-series RVU or SPR and run it
on an Integrity NonStop NS-series server with Open System Services (OSS).
Hardware Minimum Requirement
Disk Minimum three disks:
•
$SYSTEM disk
•
SQL objects disk
•
TMF audit disk
•
Recommended: Minimum 6 disks to include mirrors for the 3 disks
Disk space
•
500 MB of free space for the root file set of OSS environment
•
A minimum of 800 MB for each CPU swap file size (or twice physical
memory)
•
200 MB for the compressed and uncompressed .tar files of the NonStop
Server for Java
CPU 2 CPUs
Memory A minimum of 4 GB
for each processor
