Managing Maintenance Entity Firmware for
Processor Switch and I/O Adapter Module (IOAM)
Updating ME Firmware
Table 1-1 shows the current ME firmware information for both processor switches and
IOAMS:
The AAF SPR is available for the Maintenance Entity firmware. This SPR lifts a
restriction for IOAME modules connected to S-series enclosures when T1089ABR
firmware has been installed on the S-series processors.
Use the OSM Service Connection to update the ME firmware for processor switches:
1. Locate the ServerNet Switch Board on one Internal ServerNet Fabric (in the tree
pane, select System > Fabric Group > Internal ServerNet Fabric > Processor
Switch > ServerNet Switch Board).
2. Right-click the ServerNet Switch Board object and select Actions.
3. In the Actions dialog box, select ME Firmware Update and click Perform Action.
4. Monitor the update.
5. Repeat for the processor switch on the other Internal ServerNet Fabric.
To use the OSM Service Connection to update the ME firmware for each IOAM:
1. Locate the ServerNet Switch Board on one IOAM (in the tree pane, select System
> Group > IOAM Enclosure > IOAM > ServerNet Switch Board).
2. Right-click the ServerNet Switch Board object and select Actions.
3. In the Actions dialog box, select ME Firmware Update and click Perform Action.
4. Monitor the update.
5. Repeat for the processor switch on the other Internal ServerNet Fabric.
You can also check and update ME firmware using the OSM Low-Level Link. For more
information, see the OSM Low-Level Link online help.
