at the time manuals, softdocs, and other release materials were

produced. This file contains only information pertinent to the

H06.06 Release Version Update (RVU).

o SAFEGUARD AND STANDARD SECURITY

The H03 version of Safeguard and Standard Security improves the

cryptology of user passwords in the Integrity NonStop NS-series

server environments. The default values of some attributes are

changed to increase the "Out of Box" password security.

If you do not want to adopt the new defaults, you can follow the

regular migration steps for Safeguard. However, if you use Standard

Security alone, you will be impacted by this change.

Attributes specific to Safeguard configuration are:

Page 2 of 2 As of H06.06, NonStop Open System Services (OSS) supports files larger than the previous limit of approximately 2 gigabytes (GB) in the OSS file system, DP2, C run-time library, C++ run-time library, COBOL run-time library, and the OSS utilities. The OSS file system and utilities can handle OSS files up to a limit of 1 terabyte, although the upper limit of the actual file size depends on the size of the volume containing the file.
