Fallback With Standard Security (Safeguard Not
Installed)
Fallback With Standard Security (Safeguard Not Installed)
Fallback requires advance planning because Standard Security now supports longer
passwords, which are not accepted by previous RVUs. When fallback is planned, the
super ID user password must contain eight or fewer characters. The fallback steps,
performed by the System Administrator, are as follows:
1. If the super ID user password is longer than 8 characters, set or change the
password to contain 8 or fewer characters with
PASSWORD-COMPATIBILITY-MODE set to ON.
2. Install the previous version of Standard Security.
3. Log in using the 8-character password.
4. Use the PWCONFIG utility to change the PASSWORD-MINIMUM-LENGTH
attribute to a value less than 8.
Users whose passwords contain eight or fewer characters can successfully log on after
fallback. However, users whose passwords are greater than 8 characters long become
invalid after fallback. Therefore, the super ID user must change their passwords to
contain eight or fewer characters.
TCM & MeasTCM
TCM (T6945) and MeasTCM (T6042) now support processor types for the Integrity
NonStop NS14000 and NS1000 servers.
