OSS Unautomated Configuration and Startup
OSS Unautomated Configuration and Startup
Unautomated configuration and startup is described in Appendix B in the Open System
Services Management and Operations Guide.
OSS EasySetup (T0585)
The OSS EasySetup product (T0585) is available for automated setup, as described in
the Open System Services Installation Guide. OSS EasySetup is a series of TACL
scripts that assist a site when configuring and installing a minimal OSS subsystem for
the first time or when starting, stopping, or removing an OSS subsystem. For setup
and fallback purposes, OSS EasySetup provides:
A journal file of all installation and configuration actions
A file that records the directory structure of the initial OSS file installation
A configuration file to partially automate restarting the OSS subsystem. This file
can be edited as needed when the configuration changes.
Starting with G06.23, OSS EasySetup no longer requires the process $NULL and the
installation of SPI template files.
Minimum Memory Requirements
Integrity NonStop NS-series servers provide a 4 GB logical processor. For more
information on logical processors available, see the NonStop NS-Series Planning
Guide.
PSTATE (T0705H01) and WHOHAS (T0706H01)
PSTATE and WHOHAS are two tools that are owned and supported by the Global
Mission Critical Solution Center (GMCSC). As of H06.03 and G06.26, these two tools
are delivered to customers on the SUT.
PSTATE provides a snapshot of the status of a running process. It provides
everything that TACL STATUS, DETAIL does plus information about all files open
by the process and what I/Os are outstanding.
WHOHAS provides a list of processes that have open files. WHOHAS gives the
same information as FUP LISTOPENS but can report on all files, devices and
processes in the system.
