H06.10 Release Version Update Compendium

Fallback Issues
Pathway/iTS 1.1 packages the new PathTCP4 (T0700) as well as the current PathTCP3 (T0524).
To use PathTCP4, the error handling logic in SCOBOL client programs needs to be considered
because PathTCP4 returns new error numbers. In addition, new SCOBOL dialog verbs can be
coded. Once modified for PathTCP4, a client application cannot be used with PathTCP3 since
PathTCP3 does not contain the new features.
TMF 3.5
TMF has been enhanced to provide a more finely grained timer for the duration that TMF waits
before waking up to process its next request. Formerly, the lowest value was one centisecond;
now it can be set to one millisecond. This value is set in the ALTER TMF command.
SQL/MX 2.3
SQL/MX 2.3, introduced in the H06.10 RVU, has these new features:
Provides online variant of POPULATE INDEX and MODIFY utilities
Generates module files in Guardian directories
Projects only the requested number of rows from the table instead of scanning the complete
table
Introduces a new SQL/MX Control Query Default (CQD) statement
Fallback
On falling back to an earlier version of SQL/MX:
The new options in the POPULATE INDEX and MODIFY utilities will not be available;
hence, the online variants of these utilities will not be available.
The new options in the SELECT statement will not be available
The new CQD statement will no longer be available. You should remove all references to
this CQD statement from any applications containing such references and recompile the
applications.
