H06.10 Release Version Update Compendium

6 Manageability Products
The H06.10 RVU contains these new features for manageability products:
Measure support for ANSI SQL Names
Netbatch increased job limit
Safeguard Enhancements
Measure Support for ANSI SQL Names
Measure ANSI SQL names support allows a SQL/MX user to specify measurements using the
ANSI SQL name as an alternative to using the underlying system-generated Guardian file name.
Previous versions of Measure have supported ANSI SQL names in output; now Measure supports
ANSI SQL names in both input and output.
An ANSI SQL name is a possibly wildcarded, possibly partially specified SQL/MX object name
or partition name. Measure supports the complete unified syntax described in the ANSI
specification titled Unified ANSI Names: Syntax and Semantics (version 1.3, March 2005) with the
following exceptions:
The SYSTEM and USER keywords are not supported.
The MODULE keyword is not supported by MEASCOM.
Partition lists, enclosed in parentheses, are not supported. Measure supports only a single
partition name, not enclosed in parentheses.
Measure enhancements for ANSI SQL names include changes to entities, user commands,
programmatic interfaces, and external structured records. For example:
Eight MEASCOM commands support ANSI SQL names as entity specifiers or as displayable
entity attributes.
Numerous existing callable procedures and several new callable procedures support features
related to ANSI SQL names.
Migration
Existing commands and callable procedures are compatible with earlier versions of Measure.
Netbatch Increased Job Limit
The maximum number of jobs supported by Netbatch is increased from 9999 to 32767. Existing
applications and configurations are not affected by this change.
Migration
Enform queries for Job-Run History reports must be regenerated to use the new limits. The steps
for generating Enform queries are described in the Netbatch Manual.
Safeguard Enhancements
Attributes Can Be Reset
Safeguard now resets the attributes STATIC FAILED LOGON COUNT and
LAST-UNSUCCESSFUL-ATTEMPT.
The STATIC FAILED LOGON COUNT attribute indicates the number of failed logon attempts
since the creation of the user. The LAST-UNSUCCESSFUL-ATTEMPT indicates the timestamp
of the user's last failed logon attempt. The enhancement enables the super ID user, the owner of
the user/alias, and the owner's manager to reset these attributes at any time after the creation of
