H06.11 Software Installation and Upgrade Guide

NOTE: Starting with S7X-SWV2/HNSC-SWV2, comForte MR-Win6530 replaces OutsideView
as the terminal emulator shipped with the console software. It is launched by the OSM Low-Level
Link version T0633AAT (or later) for Startup TACL and Event Stream windows. MR-Win6530
must be installed on the system console before installing OSM Low-Level Link version T0633
(or later). Older versions of the OSM Low-Level Link continue to invoke OutsideView, which is
no longer shipped on new consoles or as part of the software package as of H06.11.
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 is now supported on both NonStop S-series and Integrity NonStop
NS-series system consoles.
Carbon Copy is no longer on the Installer DVD. Microsoft NetMeeting or Remote Desktop, the
recommended replacements for dial-in support, are already installed on the system console.
See the NonStop System Console Installer Guide for the software versions of the products provided
by S7X-SWV2/HNSC-SWV2, Update 1.

OSM Server-Based Components
For H06.11, the server-based OSM SPR is T0682H02^ABC.
NOTE: Beginning with T0682H02^AAZ, the OSM Service Connection Suite requires you to
install JRE version 1.5.0_11. This version is incompatible with OSM server versions older than
T0682H02^AAY (for NS-series servers) and T0682H07^AAV (for S-series servers). If you install
T0682H02^AAZ on any of the HP Integrity NonStop NS-series servers being managed by this
system console, all other servers also managed by this console must be running one of those
OSM server versions or later.
Highlights for OSM support of Integrity NonStop NS-series servers include:
Guided procedures for replacing processor switch and IOAM components. OSM also provides
documented service procedures for replacing Fibre Channel disk module (FCDM), NonStop
Blade Element, and LSU components.
Firmware updates for:
NonStop Blade Element (firmware update guided procedure located under Blade
Complex object in the OSM Service Connection)
Maintenance Entity (ME) firmware on ServerNet Switch Boards, located in both processor
switches and IOAMs
Fibre Channel ServerNet adapter (FCSA)
Gigabit 4-port ServerNet adapter (G4SA), located under the G4SA SAC object
Fibre Channel disk drives and Environmental Monitoring Units (EMUs), located within
FCDMs
SWAN CLIPs
Legacy S-series components supported in H-series RVUs
Support for using HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM) to help monitor your Integrity NonStop
NS-series servers, and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which is required for HP SIM support.
To install HP SIM, see the NonStop System Console Installer Guide. To enable SSL, see the OSM
Migration and Configuration Guide.
For more information on configuring and getting started with OSM, see the OSM Migration and
Configuration Guide.
