H06.12 Software Installation and Upgrade Guide

1. Locate the ServerNet Switch Board on one Internal ServerNet Fabric (in the tree pane, select
System > Fabric Group > IOAM Enclosure > IOAM > ServerNet Switch Board).
2. Right-click the ServerNet Switch Board object and select Actions.
3. In the Actions dialog box, select ME Firmware Update and click Perform Action.
4. Monitor the update.
5. Repeat for the processor switch on the other Internal ServerNet Fabric.
For Integrity NonStop NS1200 systems, Integrity NonStop NS1000, Integrity NonStop NS3000
systems, and Integrity NonStop NS14000 systems with VIO modules: Use the OSM Service
Connection to update the ME firmware for processor switches.
1. Locate the ServerNet Switch Board on one Internal ServerNet Fabric (in the tree pane, select
System > Fabric Group > Internal ServerNet Fabric > VIO Module > VIO Logic Board).
2. Right-click the ServerNet Switch Board object and select Actions.
3. In the Actions dialog box, select ME Firmware Update and click Perform Action.
4. Monitor the update.
5. Repeat for the processor switch on the other Internal ServerNet Fabric.

Use the OSM Service Connection to check and (if necessary) update ME FPGA just as you did
when updating ME firmware for both processor switches and IOAMs, except update the ME
FPGA firmware.
Managing Firmware in a NonStop Blade Complex
HP Integrity NonStop NS-series servers have one of two basic architectures: NonStop Advanced
Architecture (NSAA) or NonStop Value Architecture (NSVA). Within the NSAA architecture
type, different server types have different blade firmware requirements. This section lists the
minimum required blade firmware versions for each type of server.
For more information on architecture types or on the individual server types, refer to the NonStop
NSxxxx Planning Guide for your server. For Telco systems (NS16000AC, NS5000, and NS3000AC),
see the NonStop NS-Series Carrier Grade Server Manual.
For NSAA systems (NS14000, NS16000, NS16200), blade firmware is updated through an OSM
guided procedure, launched by performing the Firmware Update action on the Blade Complex
object. For more information, see the online help available with the guided procedure.
For NS16200 or mixed NS16000/NS16200 systems, you must perform the OSM Initialize Default
Firmware File Names action. When prompted, be sure you select the correct hardware platform
from the Configuration list. For more information, see the Updating to NS16200 Blade Complexes
procedure in the Support and Services Library in NTL.
