7 Hardware Products
The H06.13 RVU contains new features for these hardware products:
• HP Integrity NonStop NS14200 server
• V4SE and V8SE for Gigabit Ethernet connections
• Labeled tape enhancements
HP Integrity NonStop NS14200 Server
The HP NonStop NS14200 server is introduced in the H06.13 RVU. It provides the equivalent
functionality of a NonStop NS14000 server with improved system performance.
The NonStop NS14200 includes standard Intel Itanium microprocessors.
The processor type for the NonStop NS14200 server is NSE-S.

Upgrade Considerations
• All NonStop Blade Elements (NSBEs) in a NonStop Blade Complex must have the same
number and type of microprocessors.
• NS14000 and NS14200 Blade Complexes can co-exist in the same system if the H06.13 (or
later) RVU is installed.
• An NS14200 Blade Complex can be added online to an existing system if the H06.13 (or
later) RVU is installed.
• No changes to the CONFTEXT file are required.
• To make sure that OSM displays the proper firmware information for your NS14200 server
or mixed NS14000/NS14200 server, OSM provides a system-level action: Initialize Default
Firmware File Names. For more information, refer to the upgrade procedures associated
with your system in the Support and Services Library in NTL.
For information on upgrading to a NonStop NS14200 server, authorized service providers can
see the Support and Service collection in NTL (Service Procedures > NonStop NS-Series
Hardware.)
V4SECG and V8SECG for Gigabit Ethernet Connections
Two new products are available for Gigabit Ethernet connections in NonStop NS16000CG,
NonStop NS5000CG, and NonStop NS5000T servers:
• V4SECG: Versatile Ethernet ServerNet (VES) enclosure with 4 Ethernet ports, two of which
are Gigabit Ethernet ports. A pair of V4SECG enclosures provide four 10/100/1000 Ethernet
ports and four 10/100 Ethernet ports.
• V8SECG: Versatile Ethernet ServerNet (VES) enclosure with 8 Ethernet ports, four of which
are Gigabit Ethernet ports. A pair of V8SECG enclosures provide eight 10/100/1000 Ethernet
ports and eight 10/100 Ethernet ports.
These products are available for NonStop NS16000CG, NonStop NS5000CG, and NonStop
NS5000T servers running H06.13 and later H-series RVUs. For systems running RVUs H06.08
through H06.12, you must install these SPRs before you connect the hardware:
• T0633 AAY
• T0648 AAJ
• T0682 ABH
• T1805 AAC
A V4SECG or V8SECG enclosure requires 4 U of rack space. V4SECG and V8SECG enclosures
are always configured in pairs. One enclosure in the pair connects to the X-fabric p-switch and
