H06.14 Release Version Update Compendium

4 Database and Transaction Processing Products
The H06.14 RVU contains new features for these database and transaction processing products:
TCM and MeasTCM
NonStop SOAP
TS/MP
TCM and MeasTCM
TCM and MeasTCM have these changes for the H06.14 RVU:
TCM and MeasTCM support the NS16200 and NS1200 processors.
TCM supports Microsoft Excel 2003.
NonStop SOAP
NonStop SOAP with Digital Signature is supported on HP NonStop systems. Digital signature
allows Extensible Markup Language (XML) clients to communicate securely with the NonStop
TS/MP services. NonStop SOAP with Digital Signature ensures message-level security by digitally
signing a SOAP message before sending it across the network. Digital signatures authenticate
the identity of the client and ensure comprehensive message-integrity by checking for messages
that may have been tampered with. NonStop SOAP also allows the TUXEDO and CGI applications
to be run via user-exits.
TS/MP 2.3
TS/MP Version 2.3 is introduced in the H06.14 RVU. TS/MP 2.3 supports these new features:
Reduction in planned outages is supported by combining multiple replicated Pathway
environments (Pathmons) under a single logical Pathway domain. In TS/MP 2.3, using the
new domain feature allows Pathway configuration changes to be made without affecting
application availability. Note that this release does not support the ability to change the
serverclass application object online.
The Pathway domains feature also effectively raises the configuration limits of a single
Pathmon environment by up to 4x (there can be up to 4 replicated Pathmon environments
per domain).
Compared with TS/MP 2.0, TS/MP 2.3 supports increased limits for a number of Pathway
parameters:
— The number of server links per CPU is increased from 1750 to 4095
— The number of requsters per CPU is increased from 1024 to the limits of the processor
— The number of concurrent Pathsends per CPU is increased from 1600 to 4045
— The number of serverclasses per CPU is increased from 1024 to 4045
— The number of Pathway environments per CPU is increased from 256 to 4046
CPU utilitization is improved by more efficient link management
Wildcard object names in the PATHCOM (only) interface are supported for the FREEZE,
INFO, START, STATUS, STATS, STOP and THAW commands.
The default Pathway security for a Pathway coldstart is changed from N (any local or remote
user) to O (owner only).
The maximum number of ASSIGNs and DEFINEs per PATHMON environment is increased
from 4K to 8K. ASSIGNs and DEFINEs per server-class in the PATHMON environment is
increased from 512 to 8K.
