H06.15 Software Installation and Upgrade Guide

About This Document
This guide describes:
• Upgrading the initial H06.15 RVU through the use of site update tape (SUT) refreshes, if
necessary.
• Falling back to a previous SYSnn.

Supported Release Version Updates (RVUs)
This manual supports the H06.15.00 RVU and all subsequent H06.15.nn RVUs unless otherwise
noted. Exceptions are described in the text.
Intended Audience
This guide is written for operations staff and support personnel and requires a working knowledge
of Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008, HP NonStop Open System Management
(OSM) Interface client and server components, system console software, NonStop Software
Essentials, DSM/SCM, Target Interface (ZPHITI), and ZPHIRNM applications.
New and Changed Information in This Edition
This edition includes these changes:
• Removed all references to CLuster I/O Modules (CLIMs), which are not supported.
• Removed all references to SSOCLIM, which is not supported.
• Removed CLIM fallback procedures from “Loading the Previous RVU and Resuming Normal
Operations ” (page 126).
Changes are indicated by change bars.
New and Changed Information in Previous Editions
Change bars for previous editions have been retained in the current edition.
The 546070-005 edition contained these changes:
• Support for the DHCP DNS configuration wizard.
• Support for NonStop Software Essentials.
• Changes to privilege requirements for running SSOCLIM after RVU and CLIM fallback.
The 546070-004 edition contained these changes:
• “Check or Alter the CONFTEXT File Before Installing This RVU SUT ” (page 21) is updated to
reference the J06.nn Software Installation and Update Guide for NonStop NS2000 systems.
• “Managing SWAN and SWAN 2 Concentrator Firmware” (page 33) is updated to reference
either the SWAN Concentrator Installation and Support Guide or the SWAN 2 Concentrator
Installation and Support Guide.
• The former Migrating the DSM Tape Catalog and Ensuring Correct Tape Configuration Tables
section has been removed from “Installation, Migration, and Fallback Considerations”
(page 35).
• “DSM Tape Catalog Migration” (page 53) has been rewritten and added to “H06.13”
(page 53) in Chapter 3.
