H06.16 Software Installation and Upgrade Guide

About This Document

This guide describes:

• Upgrading the initial H06.16 RVU through the use of site update tape (SUT) refreshes, if

necessary.

• Falling back to a previous SYSnn.

Supported Release Version Updates (RVUs)

This manual supports the H06.16.00 RVU and all subsequent H06.16.nn RVUs unless otherwise

noted. Exceptions are described in the text.

Intended Audience

This guide is written for operations staff and support personnel and requires a working knowledge

of Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008, HP NonStop Open System Management

(OSM) Interface client and server components, system console software, NonStop Software

Essentials, DSM/SCM, Target Interface (ZPHITI), and ZPHIRNM applications.

New and Changed Information in This Edition

This edition includes these changes:

• Removed CLIM fallback procedures and made other corrections in “Loading the Previous RVU

and Resuming Normal Operations ” (page 129).

• Removed references to running SSOCLIM after RVU and CLIM fallback.

Changes are indicated by change bars.

The 546265-005 edition contained these changes:

• Support for the DHCP DNS configuration wizard.

• Support for NonStop Software Essentials.

• Changes to privilege requirements for running SSOCLIM after RVU and CLIM fallback.

• “Check or Alter the CONFTEXT File Before Installing This RVU SUT ” (page 21) is updated to
