H06.19 Software Installation and Upgrade Guide

The 584301-006 edition contained a change to Step 3 in “Complete CLIM Setup” (page 154) for
the need to reboot Storage CLIMs after executing the clearlog command.
The 584301-005 edition contained these changes and additions:
“Check or Alter the CONFTEXT File Before Installing This RVU SUT ” (page 23) is updated to
reference the J06.nn Software Installation and Update Guide for NonStop NS2000 systems.
“Managing SWAN and SWAN 2 Concentrator Firmware” (page 36) is updated to reference
either the SWAN Concentrator Installation and Support Guide or the SWAN 2 Concentrator
Installation and Support Guide.
Duplicate information has been removed from “Installation, Migration, and Fallback
Considerations” (page 38).
“DSM Tape Catalog Migration” (page 56) has been added to “H06.13” (page 56) in Chapter
3.
“CLuster I/O Module (CLIM)” (page 59) has been added to “H06.16” (page 57) in Chapter
3.
“DSM/SCM Upgrade Issues/Interoperability SPR Requirements” (page 60) has been added
to “H06.18” (page 60) in Chapter 3.
“Configure the WAN Manager” (page 123) is updated to reference either the SWAN
Concentrator Installation and Support Guide or the SWAN 2 Concentrator Installation and
Support Guide.
“Complete CLIM Setup” (page 154) is updated for falling back to either the H06.20 RVU or
the H06.19 RVU (or earlier RVUs.)
The Create an Emergency Repair Disk (ERD) or Automated System Recovery (ASR) Disk
procedure, which is no longer relevant, has been deleted.
“Updating SWAN Concentrator CLIP Firmware” (page 193) is updated to reference either the
SWAN Concentrator Installation and Support Guide or the SWAN 2 Concentrator Installation
and Support Guide.
The 584301-004 edition contained these changes:
Most firmware levels have been moved to the NonStop Firmware Matrices document. This
change is reflected in Chapter 2 (page 26).
“Install Node Interoperability SPRs” (page 73) has been extensively rewritten.
These changes were made to clarify CLIM software upgrade:
Chapter 3 (page 38) was changed to correct the CLIM interoperability issues that apply to
H06.16 and H06.17 and later H-series RVUs.
Chapter 9 (page 109) was reorganized to make it clear that for an offline upgrade of CLIMs,
you perform the CLIM software upgrade while the processors are halted. As part of this
clarification, 4. (Optional) Upgrade the CLIM Software (page 112) was made into a separate
step.
The 584301-003 edition contained these changes:
References to the NonStop Firmware Matrices document for non-SUT based firmware have
been added to Chapter 2 (page 26).
A clarification was made to AF_UNIX Release 2 Migration and Fallback” (page 57).
A correction was made to “Complete CLIM Setup” (page 154). You must be logged onto the
NonStop host system as SUPER.SUPER, not just a SUPER group user, to run SSOCLIM.
