H06.20 Software Installation and Upgrade Guide

This guide describes:
• Upgrading the initial H06.20 RVU through the use of site update tape (SUT) refreshes, if
necessary.
• Falling back to a previous SYSnn.

Supported Release Version Updates (RVUs)
This manual supports the H06.20.00 RVU and all subsequent H06.20..nn RVURs unless otherwise
noted. Exceptions are described in the text.
Intended Audience
This guide is written for operations staff and support personnel and requires a working knowledge
of Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008, HP NonStop Open System Management
(OSM) Interface client and server components, system console software, NonStop Software
Essentials, DSM/SCM, Target Interface (ZPHITI), and ZPHIRNM applications.
New and Changed Information in This Edition
This edition includes these changes:
• Support for the DHCP DNS configuration wizard.
• Support for NonStop Software Essentials.
• Changes to privilege requirements for running SSOCLIM after RVU and CLIM fallback.
Changes are indicated by change bars.
New and Changed Information in Previous Editions
Change bars from previous editions are retained in the current edition.
This 608002-006 edition contained the following changes:
• Introductory microcode and firmware information in “Managing Microcode and Firmware”
(page 26) has been updated to reference the NonStop Firmware Matrices for compatible
firmware versions.
• “Managing CLIM Firmware” (page 36) is updated to reference the NonStop Firmware Matrices
for compatible firmware on CLIM components and to use the Cluster I/O Protocols (CIP)
Configuration and Management Manual for upgrade instructions.
• Additional information about USERID attributes for persistent processes has been added to
“DSM/SCM Upgrade Issues/Interoperability SPR Requirements” (page 60) in “H06.18”
(page 60) of Chapter 3.
The 608002-005 edition contained the following changes:
• “Re-configure iTP Webserver” (page 124) was added to “Upgrade Checklist” (page 63) as a
requirement if iTP Webserver was installed prior to an RVU upgrade.
• “Re-deploy NonStop SOAP 4” (page 124) was added to “Upgrade Checklist” (page 63) as a
requirement if NonStop SOAP 4 was installed prior to an RVU upgrade.
• The T9050AQM fallback SPR was changed to T9053AQM in the “Recommended Fallback SPRs”
(page 65) table.
