Backup and Restore 2 Enhancements
Backup and Restore 2 (BR2) supports these new features:
• BRICONDISK job option: BR2 uses the BRICONDISK job option to retain the Backup Restore
Intermediate Catalog (BRIC) and BRCMD files on the disk. The BRICONDISK job option is
applicable for backup, backcopy, and parallel backup only.
• EXCLUDE filter: The files and directories are excluded based on the name you provide in
the EXCLUDE filter. This is an exclusion criterion and is applicable only for OSS objects.

NonStop Software Essentials Supported on NonStop Servers
HP NonStop Software Essentials is a software installation and management tool for NonStop
servers. Installed as a plug-in to HP SIM, NonStop Software Essentials uses DSM/SCM server
software and provides a replacement for certain DSM/SCM Planner Interface functions that is
more secure, easier to use, and overcomes other shortcomings of DSM/SCM. It coexists with
DSM/SCM; you can use either NonStop Software Essentials or the DSM/SCM Planner Interface
for tasks in which there is overlapping functionality. For more information, see the NonStop

OSM Enhancements
OSM Service Connection (T0682H02^ACI) adds support for:
• DL380 CLIMs, including the display of two new subcomponent objects (Motherboard and
Smart Array Controller) in the OSM Service Connection.
• Specifying an optional process priority for the Validate Checksum and Clear Data actions
on supported disk types.
