OSM Enhancements
OSM Service Connection (T0682 H02 ACZ) enhancements include:
• A new guided procedure to make the replacement of CLIMs and CLIM Hard Drives more
automated. Also, new actions on the CLIM object allow you to backup and restore the CLIM
configuration.
• Support for BladeCluster alarm suppression. A new Place Local Node in Service action on
the BladeCluster object can be performed to prevent all other directly-connected nodes from
dialing out an alarm as soon as SNETMON is stopped or the node is halted.
• Support for detecting bad system board batteries in RX2620, RX2660, RX2800 i2, BL860c,
and BL860c i2 servers. OSM automatically analyzes the battery sensors during initial blade
discovery and periodically when the Save BMC Event Log is retrieved. Upon detecting a
battery that does not meet performance requirements, OSM generates an alarm and dials out
to indicate that the battery needs to be replaced.
• Support for the option of binding OSM to a specific IP address and TCP/IP stack for OSM to
use when sending indications to the OSM Service Connection, HP Systems Insight Manager,
or HP Insight Remote Support Advanced.
• Support for suppression of alarms based on a specific problem and resource name, by adding
an OSMCONF parameter.
